Profile

Charlie Ellis grew up on a farm in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, went to high school in Hobart and studied Architecture in Launceston following a year working on farms and travelling.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2004, Charlie gained full-time employment with Loop Architecture and, over the following 13 years, gained professional experience working on a range of complex commercial and residential projects in Tasmania and Victoria in the sectors of education, healthcare, aged care, disability, retail, youth accommodation, and tourism.

 As well as fulfilling his passion for architecture and good design, Charlie is married and a father of two children; he likes to spend time in the bush and on the coast fishing, hunting, mountain bike riding, and playing guitar.

Charlie’s background and interests imbue his designs with environmental sensitivity and practicality.
