CENTRAL HIGHLANDS VISITOR CENTRE

This is a new building that connects two heritage-listed sandstone buildings in the historic Tasmanian Central Highlands town of Bothwell.

The footprint and roof form of the new addition is set back from the flanking buildings to provide relief. The gable roof form and expressed scissor trusses emulate roof construction of the former school building to the north. The air-dried Tasmanian hardwood board and batten cladding is typical of the early sheds and huts in the area.
